Casey’s Garden Shop and Florist
Located at the corner of North Main and Kelsey Streets, Casey’s Garden Shop has been a Bloomington landmark since 1949. Founded by Elden “Casey” Casebeer as a simple fruit stand, the business evolved into a 24-hour market known for its exceptional service and famous fruit baskets before transitioning into a year-round garden center and award-winning florist.
For decades, Route 66 travelers passed this corner market and garden shop as they made their way through Bloomington. Casey’s became part of the daily rhythm of the Mother Road—serving locals and visitors alike with fresh produce, flowers, and friendly small-town hospitality.
Inducted into the Route 66 Association of Illinois Hall of Fame in 1999, Casey’s represents the kind of family-owned roadside business that thrived because of Route 66 traffic.
